About Us

Parasortium was created slowly over time. In the beginning we went by a different name and had a different purpose. Like many during the pandemic of the early 2020’s, our reality had changed dramatically and us with it. We felt a distant pull toward something we could not see. Our journey to Parasortium and our missteps helped us find the path we aspired to follow. After a few years we dissolved our first company and became Parasortium, a safe space to explore and create.

 Both of our journeys in life have taught us the importance of community and human rights, and the pandemic immensely increased the spread of misinformation and disinformation. AJ’s experience as a member of the UN Peacekeepers and Canadian Armed Forces and my experience growing up in a conservative state in the USA imparted on us the importance of defending human rights. In addition, we experienced many people who attempted to swindle and spread misinformation and disinformation in the folk magic, ceremonial magick, and other magical circles. We decided that our business needs to provide a reliable source of information to the public. Every host, guest, link, and part of Parasortium is vetted and fact checked to protect those in our community.

Parasortium has grown beyond just the discussion of paranormal and magic as our journey has expanded our understanding. We have come to understand you cannot talk about bigfoot without connecting it to our forests and you cannot cleanse your home without recognizing sage has become endangered. The idea of “paranormal” itself is a colonial concept, attempting to keep us severed from our deeper connections to the world around us. This is why you will find scientists talking about physics, environmentalists talking about forest degradation, and historians talking about hidden histories; it’s all connected and part of us. Today, Parasortium is part of an ever-growing community and continues to evolve as we do.

With your support we can continue to grow and expand the community. We are working towards supporting our immediate community here on Vancouver Island and looking to expand our book club and bring more guests to our podcast. We have also created a discord and signal that is invite only that is a safe space to connect and communicate.
